Currently, due to the impact of the international macroeconomic situation, the demand for PVA fiber products used for boards and corrugated tiles has decreased in the international building materials market. In response to the market situation, recently, Wu Fusheng, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Group Company, led a team to Sri Lanka to participate in the IIBCC, and delivered a keynote speech at the conference, detailing the five major industrial chain related products of Wanwei and the future development prospects of the enterprise.

It is reported that the International Conference on Fiber Reinforced Inorganic Composites (IIBCC) was organized and founded by Professor Al Moselemi in 1988 at the University of Idaho in the United States, and is held every two years. This conference is an international academic conference on numerous fiber-reinforced inorganic composite materials such as fiber cement, fiber gypsum, and fiber ceramic materials. During previous conferences, it has attracted the participation of numerous internationally renowned enterprises and related service providers. Since its establishment, the conference has been successfully held in 17 different countries around the world. The 18th IIBCC conference was held in Colombo, Sri Lanka from November 19-23, 2024. The IIBCC conference is currently the most important international conference in the fiber-reinforced inorganic composite materials industry, and enjoys wide recognition in the field of fiber building materials.

At the conference, Wu Fusheng comprehensively introduced the development achievements of Wanwei Group in the PVA business over the past 55 years. He pointed out that Wanwei is a leading enterprise in China's PVA industry, with the largest scale, most advanced technology, and most complete product chain in the country. It has a market share of over 30% in the PVA domestic market, ranking the first and the second in the world. PVA fiber export volume accounts for over 60% market. Wanwei has been focusing on the development of its PVA business for 55 years, continuously extending the industrial chain, expanding the industrial scope, and building a "one body, two wings" industrial layout. Currently, it has established five major industrial chains with PVA industry as the core and high-end functional film materials as the leader, and is accelerating its progress towards the high-end of the world industrial chain.

Wu Fusheng stated that in the future, Wanwei will focus on expanding, strengthening, and optimizing the five major industrial chains, continuously increase research and development investment, introduce high-end talents through multiple channels, deepen institutional and mechanism reforms, strengthen basic research and applied basic research, fight against key core technologies, cultivate new driving forces for developing new quality productivity, and strive to create a new situation of building a world-class professional leading demonstration enterprise.
